Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope!!

Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope is here!!

“Hope is worth fighting for.” Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope is a 3-Episode live-action web series adaptation of “The History of Trunks” TV Special.

Created by fans, for fans, Light of Hope is a non-profit live-action version of the series that stays true to the characters, world, and events created by Akira Toriyama.

It’s an honor to have been asked to write this. Thank you to Robot Underdog and the entire crew for bringing our collective vision to life. I’m happy that you were able to pull it off so well.

Together, we showed the world that a live-action Dragon Ball Z can be done right.

And thank you for supporting our project!

If you’d like to see an Episode 2, please donate to Robot Underdog and buy my books, so that I can continue creating projects like this.

Enjoy!

what are your books about( dragiin ball culture, it’s over 9000…)?
are they novels, research or what

    • They’re the world’s first non-fiction books about the series. They reveal the origin of the series, including the first-ever biography of Akira Toriyama, all of the series’ Eastern and Western culture, and how Toriyama fuses these worldviews together to create the most popular manga and anime on Earth.

“It’s Over 9,000!” is about the Saiyan Saga of Dragon Ball Z, and it provides an in-depth psychological analysis of the two characters, the world around us, and yourself, as the viewer. You can read the reviews on Amazon to get an even better idea: http://amzn.to/WHu0AY

Hey Derek, it’s the first time I’m commenting on your blog. I feel compelled to stress out that English in not my native language, I’m portuguese, so my apologies for possible upcoming grammar errors or alikes.
First and foremost, congratulations on your work (blog, books, and now the live action series). Being a die hard “Dragon Ball guy”, this kind of fan-work makes me feel proud of belonging to this amazing fanbase.
I watched the pilot days ago and I was impressed. Dragon Ball is not a very easy source to pick on, because of it’s extremely fantasized setting and artwork. Trying to replicate that into real life is a big challenge if you don’t want to make it look silly. But you guys did an amazing job. Unfortunatly I’m not able to donate in any monetary way because life has not being easy around here, but if anything else, you guys can count on me to have an audience. My view will always be a part of that counter.

Sorry for the long message, sorry for the mixing of subjects and on top of all that, congratulations.

The first installment was a work of art. Thank you for not crapping all over my childhood like Evolution did <3 Are you guys thinking of continuing the episodic mode of story telling? Or, are you hoping to get enough attention that you can do feature films?

I'd personally love a Sherlock format with 3 movie length episodes making up each season. I doubt many story arcs would suffer from having a time constraint or two. We're ALL looking at you, Frieza…

P.S. I hope you guys have tried Dragon Ball Xenoverse. That's as close to a perfect DBZ simulator as you could hope for today :) The speed, the moves, the powers, the strategies and tactics your individual character's makeup determines you'll use. Everything is spot on! Besides, getting to travel through time with Trunks for the Supreme Kai of Time makes for one hell of a blast for any fan :D
