I told myself a while back that I would seek wisdom and devote myself to becoming a sage. Wisdom in my opinion embodies all of the things you mentioned above. If anyone was to honostly look inside themselves they would see that in order to achieve good and to become a better person in general they must have wisdom. A study on wisdom will show that you can't have it without forebearance (perseverance), compassion, and truthfulness.
