For international fans who have yet to see the movie, these images in the novel serve as their first opportunity at spoilers of the movie, and a look at scenes beyond the trailers.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero sees the return of the Red Ribbon Army. The army is best known for its role in Dragon Ball as an opponent of the young Goku. They returned with Doctor Gero and the Androids in Dragon Ball Z, but instead of being a direct challenge to Goku, the remnants of their previous confrontation served as a follow-up event.

The Red Ribbon Army’s appearance in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a combination of the two. Magenta has inherited control of the Red Ribbon Army. With him is Carmine, Dr. Hedo, Gamma 1, and Gamma 2, who draw similarities to Android 17 and Android 18.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will receive a global release roll-out starting on August 18. It will premiere in the United States on August 19.
