His background includes a Bachelors in East Asian Studies from Western Michigan University and study abroad in Beijing, China. He has trained under the Buddhist Shaolin Monks of Beijing, a Daoist Taiji Quan master, a Southern Gong Fu Jow Gar sifu, and 2 Shotokan Karate sensei's.
