Dragon Ball Super Movie – Official Teaser!
The first teaser trailer for the new Dragon Ball Super movie is here! What does it reveal?!
In this trailer we see Goku prepare to fight a brand new villain.
He performs warmup motions in an icy environment. When Goku enters his fighting stance he cracks the ice beneath his feet.
The two combatants power up and Goku flies toward his opponent. Their fists slam together and the trailer ends!
We are left with so many questions!
Thankfully, we received a few answers after it premiered.
This trailer premiered on Tuesday when Bandai-Namco delivered a presentation of their upcoming games at the Game Developers Conference 2018 in San Francisco.
The presentation was mostly focused on their video games for anime properties such as the just-announced Dragon Ball Legends. But it also contained a presentation about the new Dragon Ball Super movie, beginning at the 48 minute mark.
Two presenters from Japan came to discuss the film.
They are Akio Iyoku, the Director of the Dragon Ball Unit at Shueisha, and Norihiro Hayashida, the producer of the Dragon Ball Super movie at Toei Animation.
After viewing the new trailer, Akio and Norihiro made several comments.
They told us that the movie will be written and designed by Akira Toriyama.
Goku has an updated design for the first time in 20 years!
They said the key visual art of Goku required over 1 year of back and forth design work with Akira Toriyama before his premiere. They drew him with smoother lines that would make it easier to illustrate his dynamic movements in battle.
Akio said the villain for the new Dragon Ball Super movie “might be a Saiyan.” And because of this, we will no doubt also see Freeza!
Norihiro said that due to the international success of the films Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, they are aiming for a simultaneous worldwide release in theaters on December 14.
Akio added, “The Dragon Ball Super anime is reaching its climax, but the world of Dragon Ball is not going to end, so look forward to more content coming up.” He also said, “The movie will definitely be collaborating with the games.”
What do you think that will mean for Dragon Ball fans? And are you hyped for Dragon Ball’s 20th film?! Share your comments below!
