Hironobu Kageyama and his band, JAM Project, are holding a concert in Hollywood on August 18, and I have 2 free tickets for you.

They’re also holding a Cosplay Contest with $500 in cash prizes and free passes to Anime Expo 2014.

Hironobu Kageyama is the singer of most of the Dragon Ball Z theme and insert songs, including Cha-La Head Cha-La, We Were Angels, We Gotta Power, and the intro’s to a lot of the video games.

He is famous for his incredible passion and has done so many songs for DBZ that fans refer to him as “Mr. DBZ,” “Kami,” and “The Prince of Anime.”

Note: At the time of publication I was told that it was a DBZ centric concert, but I’ve asked to confirm that they are only playing DBZ music, and not other anime music as well, such as Saint Seiya, and I am now waiting to hear back. She said it will be a few days until she can confirm.

Follow up on August 13: I’ve just found out that JAM Project are going to perform “Cha-La Head Cha-La,” the One Piece opening theme song, “We Are,” plus several JAM project group songs and songs by the individual group members.

Here’s Hironobu Kageyama in concert singing Cha-La Head Cha-La.

How can you not love Kageyama’s dedication that has lasted for more than 2 decades?

The concert is being held by the Musicians Institute of Hollywood and the Japan America Artist Foundation (JAAF) to promote contemporary Japanese culture and art.

JAM Project has toured all over Japan giving concerts, but it is a rare event for them to play in the United States.
