The Origin

In Volume 1 you will discover the origin of Dragon Ball.

How does Akira Toriyama get his big break and become a manga author?

Why does he make Dragon Ball?

Where does Dragon Ball’s culture come from?

And why is it so successful?

Along the way you’ll be informed, entertained, and inspired. You will learn more about your favorite series and about yourself.

Collect All Seven Volumes

This is Volume 1 of 7, in a project that has required 11 years of effort to write.

The rest of the book’s 2,000 pages is done, but has to be edited, formatted, and published.

Volume 2 explores the start of Goku’s adventure with his new friends.

Volume 3 details the philosophical foundations of Goku’s training and the establishment of Dragon Ball as the quintessential battle manga.

Volume 4 follows Goku’s westward journey into unknown territories.

Volume 5 reveals the inner depth of the rivalry between Turtle and Crane.

Volume 6 shows you the minds of gods and demons.

Volume 7 helps you discover the true culture of the Dragon Ball anime and movies.

When you collect all 7 volumes you awaken your inner Shenron!

Publishing Plan

The plan is to finish publishing the remaining volumes in ebook, and then publish each of them in print.

These books are expensive to get into print because each of them is a non-fiction analysis with hundreds of foreign terms and citations. They need to be professionally indexed before I can print them, otherwise librarians, professors, and scholars won’t purchase the books.

To create the print books I need the revenue from the ebooks, so please support my writing and share the news with your friends. Let them know that Volume 1 is out now and the rest are coming soon.

It Begins!

This book will change everything you think you know, and give you new eyes.

It will take you on a wild and hilarious adventure from the begining to the end of Son Goku’s adventure.

And it will remind you of why you love this series so much.

Now step with me through the doorway of Dragon Ball Culture.

    Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!

Derek, I understand you need the revenue from the ebook to publish them in print. But do you know approximately how long you’ll take between each volume to be published as ebook?

Personally I prefer to buy the books in print.

Thanks for the good cheers, Porice.

I’d say it will take about 2 to 3 weeks for each volume to be released in ebook. That’s because of my fanatical obsession with making each book 100% before release.

I’m working on Volume 2 now, so you can expect that in a couple weeks.

      • Porice says:

That’s great! I was honestly expecting months in between each volume.

You’ll be able to have these goodies out in print in no time then!

Looking forward to buying them 🙂

DarkPrince_92 from Kanzenshuu checking in. Awesome work, sounds tedious as hell. Crazy, because it is a non-fiction thing, it takes more effort to get any backing. Good luck bruh.
