New Dragon Ball Z Movie in 2015!
Akira Toriyama is writing a new Dragon Ball Z movie to be released in 2015!
Anime News Network reports that the official announcement will be made in this Saturday’s V Jump magazine published by Shueisha.
The new Dragon Ball Z movie will premiere during the Golden Week string of holidays in Japan next Spring. This is a 7 day period from April 29 to May 5.
According to Anime News Network:
Akira Toriyama is personally credited with the original concept, screenplay and character designs of the new movie “that the entire universe eagerly awaits!!”
Toriyama states in the magazine “I thought up the new story for the next Dragon Ball theatrical movie as though it were a continuation of the manga when it was in serialization.”
He has written the script from scratch and has taken extra care to draw the art and dialogue, saying, “I can obsess completely over the smallest bits of dialogue.”
Reportedly there will be more action scenes than in Battle of Gods, and according to Toriyama it will be “utterly funny.”
Even Toriyama’s strict editor while working on Dragon Ball, Kazuhiko Torishima-san, has praised Toriyama’s script. This is rare, as Torishima-san usually criticized his work or shut down his ideas. This suggests that the script represents some of Toriyama’s best work to date.
Toriyama is currently drawing new character designs for the film and asks you to look forward to the movie!

“[As with the last movie], I thought up the new story for the next Dragon Ball theatrical movie as though it were a continuation of the manga when it was in serialization. Just the fact that I don’t have to draw anything means I can obsess completely over the smallest bits of dialogue. Well, the truth is that I wasn’t planning on going that far, since it’s pretty exhausting at my age, but I got a little carried away.
This time will of course be a continuation of the previous Battle of Gods, but I’ve deliberately increased the amount of action scenes by a good deal. With regards to the contents, they told me, “Keep it a secret!” like they’re all high-and-mighty, so I can’t touch on it yet, but it should be super-duper interesting!
The fact that I’d say that, when I’m not big on the flashy action-stuff, means there’s no doubt about it! Even my very first editor Torishima, who rarely ever praises me, said, “This is good!”
Absolutely no doubt about it! …Although it won’t be any good if I say that too loudly and people end up disappointed by it, but at the very least, I’m confident that the contents are something that the fans will be able to thoroughly enjoy! Right now, I’m drawing the design illustrations for the new character[s] and such. The movie’s completion is still a ways out in the future, but please look forward to it!!”

Did you see “Battle of the Gods”? No one’s saying anything about dropping Goku’s reputation. But Vegeta earned his place as a hero, even if his origin makes him harder to accept as one. That man is a shining example of redemption, and deserves to be in the spotlight.

Yep, that’s right.
Although one correction. It’s 81 Buddhist hardships, not 88. That’s because 9 represents a full cycle, so they are forced to endure 9 times 9 hardships in order to pay back their karma and ascend as Buddha’s.
They complete their 80th hardship by the time they reach the Buddha’s Western Paradise and retrieve the sutras. They don’t know they have to complete 81, but the Buddha does. So he gives them blank sutras. Then on their return trip to China the Buddha sends a giant golden eagle to attack them and reveal in the battle that their sutras are blank. He does this to examine their resilience and see if they are determined to endure and complete their sacred mission.
Upon seeing them walk back to India to get the real sutras all over again, thus proving themselves, he sends his Vajrapani warriors to whisk them back to his Western Paradise in an instant. And having now completed their 81st hardship he rewards them with the real sutras and complete enlightenment.
More to the point of the topic at hand, I’d love to see Toriyama incorporate some cultural concepts like this into the next movie. Ultimately, Goku has to meet a Buddha at some point. There has to be someone beyond the highest level deities, there’s not much room left to go before he meets a Buddha.

What should happen is that Vegeta gets all seven dragon balls and wishes back planet vegeta except goku won’t let him enless he wishes that the saiyans will not conquer earth. So he does, Then Goku has Bulma build him a saiyan pod along with a few others. Then Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks all go to planet vegeta to meet the long lost saiyans. King vegeta tells goku about his father and then goku goes back to earth and wishes bardock to be alive. Then shenron says that He cannot because Bardock is back in time and he is alive. So goku wishes that his father is on planet vegeta. Then he gets in his saiyan pod and goes back to planet vegeta to meet his father. Then goku goes ssj for him then out of the ordinary bardock goes ssj
Goku can still and always will be top dog, but Vegeta worked harder changed more and is not the embodiment of goodness? He is the perfect anti hero who does this for love of family and friends…
Yeah, if Toriyama went with Vegeta as the hero it would be the perfect way to finish his character development.

This brand new movie is the extension of Battle of Gods，so the main character should be Goku as always.
Super Excited! – I am interested in seeing more of Piccolo also – perhaps an ending where Vegeta and piccolo get to show their epic character developments!
Pretty much saw this coming with the success of the Battle of the Gods movie, but still very exciting news. Kind of hope for a longer more dramatized version of “Not till the fish jumps” with Piccolo and Vegeta. Those two seem like they should be the best of friends.

Incredible! Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods, which is a huge success and coming to the U.S.A. this August, just came out on March 2013! Now, they’re making a continuation of the movie! Amazing! What more could they think of? What villain could be stronger than Birus(Beerus)/Lord Bills, God of Destruction? To think that Toriyama would still be active to think of a fiercer villain than Lord Bills? I thought he hit his limits already (of thinking a more complicated villain than God of Destruction, that is). Moreover, what could Goku ascend to this time after Super Saiya-jin God?
Aside from action moves, Akira Toriyama loves humour and I think he would put a lot of comical scenes in this new movie! If it’s him writing and editing the script, for sure, it will be another enormous amount of financial and company success!
As a fan, I would love to see character developments on Vegeta in this new movie! Fans will be impressed if they make Vegeta the main protagonist when it comes out next year!

The current theory among fans is that somebody makes a wish on the dragon balls to turn Goku into a bad guy, and then Vegeta has to become the Super Saiyan God to defeat him. However, Toriyama has a habit of defying people’s expectations, so I won’t be surprised if it’s completely out of left field and involving multiple dimensions, with all kinds of whacky humor thrown into the mix.
In either case I’m looking forward to Toriyama-sensei’s next masterpiece.
Yeah also, in Battle of the Gods, they explicitly mention that they aren’t the strongest beings in the universe
Please Bring back Raditz there was a rumor that Goku will wish back a former foe for some reason after the worst wish in history is made I hope Goku wishes back Raditz, let me explain Number 1 Raditz is a Sayain and Sayains get Stronger so maybe Goku and Vegeta can train him and he can go SSJ1 SSJ2 SSJ3 and Finally SSJG. Also Raditz is Family to Goku and he can give them information on Bardock and Gine his Family and three they Showed Raditz Bardock and Ginie in the Manga Dragon Ball Minus and they never mention anyone if they would not bring them back what would be the point and Also Dragon Ball Minus is a Special Manga.
That would be fun, but I imagine it would take years of non-stop effort to power Raditz up to a competitive level. I’m not sure if that would make sense for a theatrical film.
Vegeta being the hero will be good for the series but as DBZ main hero is goku i feel both would Fuse and become Vegito ss god or something like that and i also read some articles that the next movie would reveal Goku mother
Please make gohan since we’re considering making gohan the main protagonist please give him some respect he doesn’t really last long he’s always the first person to get knocked down!!! And make him train some at least
