Dragon Ball Legends Game Announced!!

Dragon Ball Legends has been announced for smartphones! It is a global real-time Player-versus-Player (PvP) multiplayer game, in full 3D.

The game will be developed and published by Bandai-Namco and was announced during a Google presentation at the Game Developers Conference 2018 in San Francisco.

Each player will fight with a three-man team from the Dragon Ball series. Combat is enacted through action cards that players tap on the screen, with cards being drawn in real time to enact close range or long range techniques. Combos can be performed by using a sequence of cards.

Characters presented include Son Goku, Super Saiyan Son Goku, Vegeta, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo, Freeza, Nappa, Pan from Dragon Ball GT, and one of the Saibamen.

Players are not restricted to only fighting local players in their country. This is because Dragon Ball Legends uses Google’s Cloud Network to host matches.

Bandai Namco representative Toshitaka Tachibana, overseas producer of the app, said: “Every fighter deserves a solid connection.”

To prove the power of this connection, a live demo was presented between a player in San Francisco and a player in Japan at Bandai-Namco headquarters in Tokyo.
